Oeiras vs Barringtons
On Sunday the 29th of August a 40 over League game was played between Oeiras and Barringtons.
With the sun beating down on the players, on a day the temperature got to a scorching 36ºC, Oeiras won the toss and decided to bat. Barringtons playing with only a 10 man team had to field.
Oeiras openers started the game in a hurry, scoring a boundary almost off every over, after the fall of the opener, Singh G who ended on 57 and Balkrishna who ended on 78 came together to score a 120 run 2nd wicket partnership, putting Oeiras in the driving seat.Oeiras lost a wicket of Shrma in a odd dismissal, after blocking the ball, the ball bounced and spun back with Shrma handling the ball,and thus going out.Pais came on to score a impressive 143 not out at a fast rate, having been dropped a couple of times, guiding Oeiras to a huge 349/7.Barrington's bowlers of note was Kemsley taking 2 for 84, Verchow 1 for 27 and Hazare 1 for 51.
Barringtons in chase of the massive total, lost wickets in regular intervals, Freeman scoring the highest total going out on a well played 39, Kemsley scored 12 while Nandra left standing on 11 not out, leaving Barringtons 94 all out in 29.3 overs, giving Oeiras a 255 run victory, with Pais, Carlo and Shrma each taking 2 wickets.
Pais scoring a personal best of 143* and taking 2 for 13 took the Man of the Match.
