Indoor League Semi-Finals Report

The semi-finals of the Indoor League were played this past weekend in Portela. After officials moved the bowler’s end stumps and crease back half a meter, and failing to mention this to anyone, a comical run out and a multitude of no balls later, we had our finalists.

In the first game of the evening, Oeiras having won the league portion of the competition ended up playing 4th placed Bangladesh. Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat. Kholil ended up being run out after placing his bat behind the wrong line, and only Ebrahim managed a respectable 14 runs before being bowled. N. Green picked up 2 wickets, while R. Shrma and P. Buccimazza picked up 1 each. Oeiras, only having 79 as a target, set about chasing down the target methodically.  R. Shrma (20*), H. Shahzad (20*) and P. Buccimazza (18*) steered Oeiras to a comfortable victory.

In the second game of the evening, CHP won the toss and put Kings of Punjab in to bat. After a promising start from CHP, getting 3 early wickets, Suny (25), Suny (22) and Nikka (13*) managed to lead Kings of Punjab to 122 before being bowled all out. Nishank picked up 2 wickets, while Jayesh picked up 1 wicket. CHP seemed to be within reach of chasing down the target after losing Jayesh early, but the pressure kept building, leading to a spree of run outs, leaving CHP on 109 all out.

These results mean that Oeiras will play Kings of Punjab in the final this Saturday.
